Remember the “No Fear” bumper stickers? Every time I saw them, the mom in me thought, “Fear keeps us alive.” But there’s something to be said for what can be accomplished if we focus on the goal and not the impediments. My cat loves to follow me around (when he feels like hanging with me, that is). I will be on the porch and that cat will come flying out of nowhere and land on the railing next to me. Did I mention that we’re 20 feet off the ground? He doesn’t even flinch. He lands and looks up at me, waiting to be petted.
Sometimes I have jumped in and regretted it. But sometimes I have missed out on great things because I looked at the 20 foot drop instead of looking at my goal. This week I’m going to be more like my cat. If I want to do something, I’m going just jump in and do it. Oh, did I mention I’m going to Ireland next week? Maybe that’s why this week needs to be a little more challenging than usual. Next week is going to be unforgettable. I want to make the most of every day, and they fly by so quickly.
